We have committed ourselves to be different from other schools. We have committed ourselves to treat each other as we would like to be treated. We have committed ourselves…to be kind.
~ Tam Larnerd, Principal, Bob Miller Middle School
It is our honor to be a part of such a worthwhile cause. In such a short amount of time, the Josh Stevens Foundation has helped positively transform our student and staff culture on campus.
Genuine kindness and caring for one another is shown daily on our campus and we are happy to be able to recognize and reward these kind acts. We thank the Josh Stevens Foundation for all they are doing in our community.
~ A.J. Adams, Principal, Schofield Middle School
The Josh Steven’s Foundation is an act of kindness in itself, by rewarding those that are genuinely kind. There is nothing like seeing a child smile because someone has recognized their kindness. I hope that the Josh Steven’s Foundation becomes a lifestyle in our country.
~ Jacki Dale, 6th Grade Counselor, Schofield Middle School
The Josh Stevens Foundation has transformed some students with behavioral issues into positive role models. You simply cannot be involved in the Be Kind Campaign and not practice kindness toward others.
One such student, who has been involved with the start up of Be Kind at our school, was with a group of his friends when he saw a young lady drop some money. He picked it up, although his friends snickered and teased him, he ran to catch up to her to return her money. The best part was he didn’t even know the student or know that a teacher had witnessed the whole interaction.
Our school has made a commitment to focus more now on the positive behaviors that students display. It has changed the students’ behavior and changed the climate of the school. We feel and act in a more kindly manner when we wear our shirts too!
~ Julia Bush, School Counselor, Burkholder Middle School
The Josh Steven’s Foundation has had such a huge impact in such a short amount of time. The students that were introduced to the “Be Kind” Program have really made a difference with their own behaviors in school. I think they have realized the importance of “Being Kind” to one another, and that everything we do has an effect on someone or something. I think the kids really took ownership to introducing the program at Burkholder, and it has given some of the kids recognition that they might not have earned otherwise. The talent behind these kids really, really shined, and that made all of us so proud.
