We visited Safe House in Henderson today. A shelter for abused men, women and children. They really could use some help. So we decided to send them a little Kindness. We will adopt their cause as one of our own. We will be collecting donations of all kinds for Thanksgiving and through the December holidays. Baby clothes and products, hygiene products, non-perishable foods, Frozen turkeys closer to Thanksgiving, cleaning supplies, bus passes, cash, you name it, they need it. JSF Celebrates 4th of July with Boulder City!

The July 4th Boulder City ‘Dam’boree was a fun parade for the foundation to have a float in this year!

And nearly “float” we did! Boulder City’s parade is more of an organized WATER FIGHT! We were drenched by the third block! We had six huge trash cans full of ice water (yep, Drew added chunks of ice for added shock) and an array of super-soakers to join in the fun. Little did we realize that Boulder City means business…the crowd came prepared with buckets and coolers full of water, water guns of every size and style, garden hoses connected to their houses, and even a small artillery of water balloons.

As the Josh Stevens Foundation float passed by the announcer, he was explained that the Josh Stevens Foundation promotes kindness across the valley; despite the fact that it’s members were squirting spectators and yelling, “Take that turkeys!”

Thank you, Boulder City, for inviting the foundation to join in on the fun!

Hard Rock Teams with the Josh Stevens Foundation

Hard Rock Cafe just finished up their “40 Charitable Acts in 40 Days” to commemorate their 40th Anniversary.  The wonderful people over at Hard Rock believe in plugging into their community…reaching out and touching lives.  They did just that!  They focused on forty local philanthropies and charities here in the valley and spent valuable time doing community service,  lifting up beautiful faces with hope.

They asked our foundation to partner with them in this event since we have a similar mission to reward genuine acts of kindness.  Hard Rock put a $10 gift certificate inside 2,500 of our kindness cards and passed them out in stacks to hundreds of middle and high schools around Clark County.  Principals were asked to catch students being kind to one another and reward that beautiful behavior with a kindness card (and Hard Rock gift certificate).  Staff and managers made a big deal of the recipients of these cards when they came to dine at the Cafe…letting each student know how very COOL it was to be so kind!  The kindness revolution has been stamped with the “cool factor” of the Hard Rock.  We are so honored to be working together with such amazing people!  Rock on!

Recycled Kindness!

Friday, May 20th, was a night many “Be Kind” members won’t soon forget! Recycled Percussion, currently performing at the Tropicana in Las Vegas, NV, invited 250 guests of the Josh Stevens Foundation to join them for a night of bang-happy fun! Guests showed up in their “Be Kind” attire ready; and they weren’t disappointed.

As each guests entered, they were given a drumstick and asked to choose their instrument. Choices ranged from pots and pans to bucket and dog bowls! What fun we had as we banged away, laughing at our mistakes, while being amazed at the musical skills of Recycled Percussion.

But the fun didn’t stop there. Other guests noticed the “Be Kind” group and wanted to know more about the Josh Stevens Foundation.  Justin took a moment to share their support of the foundation with the rest of the audience, and generously agreed to donate half of the revenue from last night’s merchandise sales to the Josh Stevens Foundation.

Recycled Percussion partners with Josh Stevens Foundation!

I am a teacher at Gordon McCaw.  I went to Recycled Percussion last night and wanted to share pictures I took since they support your foundation! I cheered very loud when they asked if anyone has heard of your foundation.

Have a good evening,

Breeanna Stevens
